A few different jobs completed for this homeowner in Modbury.

The main feature being the three new pendant lights installed above the kitchen bench, with new timber supports installed in the roof space to properly support each fitting.

I also installed a pendant in the master bedroom and an extra intermediate switch in the hallway, as four light switches apparently weren’t enough. Why not do five? When it’s your home, you can do what you want.

The intermediate switch in the garage was by far the hardest part of the job. Being a brick veneer property, I thought I’d be able to utilise the cavity to get the new cabling down the wall. As you can see in the photo, there was flashing installed directly above it, completely blocking access.

I ended up pulling out an existing power circuit and using that as a draw wire to hopefully pull three new cables through the top plate. A few trips up and down the ladder into the roof space, but I got it done without cutting any extra holes in the wall.

I even surprised myself.

Finished off with a new power point behind the TV bracket, keeping the power connection hidden once the TV is mounted.

A good mix of lighting, switching and power upgrades, with one section that took a bit more patience than expected.
